Andrew captains the ADM team [Puja, Ed, Scarlett Chen, Alice Chiu, Linda Li, Mee, Mika Huang and Leon Li] working on a TVC for Tango - a tough act to follow given the controversial but attention-grabbing success in the early 1990s of Tango Orangeman!

Stellar work from team Redbull comprising of: Marieta, Freddy, Kathy Chen, Bernice Fan, Payne Huang, Ji Qi, Felix Jiang Hao and Elena Li Cai.
freddycounsell:

Culturematic Revolution - Taking The Experience...
A fascinating article in the Harvard Business Review by Grant McCracken about AmEx’s latest product/service: Nextpedition.
Taking Pine and Gilmore’s experience economy even further, he argues that a new kind of managerial capitalism - a new corporation - is emerging: one that produces “randomness, variety and delight”. What does this company look like?

James Armstrong: People don't always mean what...
This afternoon we had James Armstrong, Market Intelligence Manager for Philips Consumer Lifestyle, sharing with our students practical tips on how to do market research - it was a really helpful insight into the fuzzy craft of figuring out what people want, which is very different, as James warns, from what they say. When asked why did you buy an iPhone, for instance, most respondents will list...

Codes of Gender - The Identity and Performance in Pop Culture
When hearing Professor Sut Jhally’s views on gender roles in pop culture, it was hard to disagree. It made me realise that whilst females may regard this as sexist, pop culture may influence them subconciously. For example, Prof. Jhally states that females in advertising are often shown...

Guardian Christmas Ads from the last century
Mince pies, happy plum puddings and giving cigarettes as presents - the Guardian newspaper today is showing their ads from as early as 1920. Old ads features lots of long copy and illustration - before photography came into common use - in fact, judging by the extravagance and variety of weights and serifs in these ads, copy was the visual artwork. Check them out here.

I thought it threw up some interesting questions about branding and this elusive thing called “Britishness” - what does it mean to be a British brand? Heck, what is a brand? Discussing...
